Mechanical and Electrical

Ice Harbor and Lower Monumental DamsINCA’s mechanical and electrical engineers provide a wide range of services for design, construction, and project management of industrial and institutional facilities, water resource and hydroelectric power projects, navigation locks and dams, large steel structures, and special needs projects. INCA serves public and federal agencies, municipalities, utility companies, and equipment manufacturers in many areas. INCA engineers are experts in the design of high-pressure gates and valves; large diameter hydraulically-operated machinery; and hydroelectric turbines, cranes, and hoists. Staff work with fabricators and installation contractors to determine optimum designs to facilitate the best installations.

INCA provides design, cost estimating, construction, and project management services for industrial facilities, utilities, hydroelectric plants, and navigation locks and dams. Expertise includes field as-built work; modification and rehabilitation of buildings, utilities, and power plants; and resolution of difficult site conditions and power outage restrictions. INCA staff work with owners, facility users, and field personnel to ensure that each design meets its goals: flexible and cost effective; constructible; operational and maintainable; and planned to accommodate future growth.

INCA’s structural and mechanical engineers have broad experience with large lock gates, heavy lift cranes, and hoists. Gate experience includes detailed design of new gates as well as inspection and repair of existing gates, including high-pressure slide gates up to 300 psi, bonneted wheel gates, roller gates, miter gates, and tainter gates. INCA works closely with clients and fabricators to ensure the final product is cost effective and meets or exceeds owner requirements. Crane and hoist experience includes sizing, design, and preparation of specifications for new cranes as well as inspection and design modifications and specifications for rehabilitation and upgrading of existing cranes and hoists.
