Eastgate Transit Access to I-90 E-mail

Eastgate Transit Access to I-90The I-90 / Eastgate Transit Access project was jointly developed by Sound Transit and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Sound Move, the region’s ten-year transit plan, included this $22 million project to construct HOV ramps connecting I-90 to the Eastgate Park-and-Ride lot. These ramps increase speed and reliability of buses and carpools to and from the I-90 HOV lanes.

Tetra Tech INCA provided preliminary design studies for off-site improvements and preparation of an Access Decision Report. INCA assisted with site configuration and facilities analysis, preparation of the environmental documentation, community and agency coordination, and preparation of the final design documentation file. INCA provided surveying and mapping. In the final phase, INCA provided design plans, specifications, construction schedule, and estimate preparation for the new transit direct access ramps from the I-90 HOV lanes to the existing 142nd Place SE bridge. INCA’s scope of work included final design of HOV access ramps, soldier pile lagging retaining walls, grading, stormwater design, landscaping, paving, illumination, detention pond construction, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS).
